Beavers Smelling Roses?

How good are the Oregon State Beavers? How about good enough to play in the Rose Bowl if they can get past their final two conference opponents at Arizona and the season finale against Oregon. The Beavers beat the Cal Bears today to maintain pace for the PAC-10 title. They upset then #1 USC and would have beaten Utah if not for a last second Louie Sakoda field goal to steal the win in Salt Lake City. Lyle Moevao was solid again at QB for the Beavers today and except for a few mishaps, the Beavers, with their large Polynesian contingent could be poised to be in the Rose Bowl for the first time in over four decades.

Utah is the real deal. BYU, again narrowly escaped with a win against in-conference foe Air Force, setting up what will probably be the biggest disappoint of the season after being kicked and dragged through the mud by TCU. Utah will run the table on BYU this year in front of the MUSS. As much as I like BYU (Robert Anae is a dear friend and several friends and family members play on the team) I'm just not convinced that they can hang with Utah for four quarters. Especially since Utah has beaten everyone that BYU has struggled against.
